Correlation Downloader (get non-image data)

In a nutshell, to download core logging data (excluding images) from the LIMS database for :

  • Open the Correlation Downloader app (ask your friendly IT support if the shortcut is not readily available)
  • Select the data types you want to use in Correlator.
    Select the data types you want
    • Note the checkbox Split by instrument, it applies mainly or exclusively to magnetic susceptibility data acquired on two loggers and the case where you want to correlate them to each other. Check it to be save. Details in the full user guide.
  • Select the hole and core(s) you want the data from (one hole at a time).
    • Note: the relevant section summary required for accurate computations in Correlator is downloaded automatically with the first data type you are downloading.
    IMPORTANT
    • Note: Check the Append core data to hole button for iterative addition of data from recently recovered core to the hole file.
  • Click the Download correlation data button.
  • Select your site folder from which Correlator will import the data.

LORE (get image data)

BatchLORE is the main data portal of the JRSO. To batch-download trimmed section half images for use in Correlator:

  • In the report selection panel on the left, select Images > Core Sections (LSIMG) >Standard.
  • In the Hierarchy Search panel, select one of the Site(s) and one of the Hole(s).
  • Click the View data button.
  • Click the Batch download linked files button.
  • Select the Cropped image (JPG) link radio button.
  • Click the Choose a link button.
  • Go to your Downloads folder and either unzip the image file and drag it, or unzip it into, (depending on your OS/browser configuration) the folder used by the R script, such as:.
    • Desktop > Image reduction for Correlator > imageReduction_input > YourHoleFolder (e.g., U1510A)

ImageResample

Batch-process the images, cropping the peripheral ~1 cm from the images and reducing the image to ~200 kb, suitable for Correlator.
