Expedition Info

Embarked June 9th and disembarked Aug 9, 2022. Both port calls were Cape Town, South Africa.

Two Program Aides sailed. Mallory Mintz sailed in the Core Laboratory and Erick Bravo sailed as Imaging Specialist. Both where fantastic.

Notes

: Tested the Dtube tape from the Core Repository and it worked well. No complaints.

: Sediment Working Halves will be shipped after the Lisbon Port call to Bremen Repository. They are marked BCR in orange spray paint in the HCR. All residues will be going to BCR.

: For Frozen World Courier – we will use the GDI 80 no matter what the sample size (extra Dry Ice will be a bonus for smaller sample amounts).

: For Refrigerated World Courier – we will use GTC 56L.

: Updated the amount of Dry Ice in AMS description to reflect WC number.

: WC does not require weights in custom Invoice if we use their boxes.

: Please defrost all -80 freezers and incubators during the tie up.

: Please check the Medical first aid boxes that are throughout the lab for expired items (eyewash) and replace any other items as needed.

: Updated critical items in Logistics Spreadsheet (Barnstead filters for old machine are removed). Please use most recent file. Make sure the file you use has the GenPure Pro polisher filter CM9049 added.

COVID Protocol

Sailing staff arrived to the hotel in Cape Town on June 2nd and June 3rd. We quarantined at the hotel until boarding on June 8th and June 9th, respectively. Crossovers with the onboard staff were conducted at the hotel via ZOOM. We had two PCR tests in the hotel. All technical staff were able to board after the hotel quarantine. For the first seven days onboard we had a daily antigen test. From days eight to fourteen?? we had an antigen test every other day. No COVID cases while onboard.
