User Can't Access Account
Project / Product
This affects any project that use SSO (Single Sign On). Projects which utilize SSO have the login screen as shown below. This article was heavily based on one created by Josh Addison and adapted for all our projects.
Question / Issue
A user is unable to logon to their account. This could be due to a variety of issues such as forgot password, forgot username, forgot email and so forth. This can be troublesome in some instances, especially when the user is unable to access their email, particularly in cases where they were affiliated with TAMU at some point and had a net id/email associated with TAMU and no longer have access.
Resolution
The applicant cannot access old their old user account. An admin will need to go into User Management and change their email address to the new one. However, make sure that the admin verifies the user requesting this. If face-to-face verification is not possible, I recommend having the user do a zoom call where they verify their identity by having their camera on while holding a form of ID.
Preformatted Response
After having verified the identity of the user who wishes to reset the email on their account, you can follow the steps below to resolve the issue:
Navigate to https://apps.cvm.tamu.edu/UserManagement
Locate the current user via their name, UIN, email, Net ID, etc.
Click the “View” button on their profile card.
Click on the “Profile” tab.
Under “System Contact Information”-> “My Email” change the email to the correct email address.
Important! Make sure to press the “Save” button in the bottom right corner!
Notify the applicant to reset their password by sending them to
