Summary

During expedition 403, the primary focus was on supporting operations, as always, but shore based projects were also a high priority. When not actively involved in expedition-related matters, developers spent time learning the infrastructure of AMS and Laserfiche as well as supporting requests from shore for AMS and Laserfiche. A great deal of progress was made on the shore-based Hyperscan project also.  In addition to these, the developers resolved various issues arising from the use of our software products, along with the usual database and account maintenance issues.

Selected issues are highlighted, but not reviewed in exhaustive detail. In general, see the ship activity log and product pages on the developer site for additional detail: {+}http://banff.iodp.tamu.edu/display/DEV/Developer+Home+Page+
The activity log specific to this expedition will be placed here: {+}http://banff.iodp.tamu.edu/display/DEV/Ship+Activity+Log+

General Duties Performed

During expedition 403, the developers participated in:

  • Routine expedition support.

  • Maintenance of software applications (as detailed in the sections below).

  • Assist with data management in cases where LIME and other software tools do not suffice.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Special Projects

During expedition 403, developer worked on the following project, outside normal expedition-related duties:

  • Hyperscan

    • This was a project well underway before the expedition began, and developers continued work on it remotely throughout the expedition.

Change Summary

During expedition 403, the developers made the following software changes:

  • LORE Report

    • Added the "Display" column to the Core Composite (COREPHOTO) report.  Also enabled the "Display status" filter control, so that users are able to download the images specified by the flag.  This was done because occasionally we would find that there were multiple COREPHOTO tests logged for a core, and this allowed users (e.g. the publications specialist) to only download those with display = 'T'.

  • Correlation Downloader

    • Provided the better sorting function for the samples in Section tab, this is requested by stuff scientist from shore.

  • GEODESC

    • Deployed changes made by developers on shore.  These were fixes for minor bugs found during the course of the expedition.

PROBLEMS AND OUTSTANDING ISSUES
